You can purchase tickets through the Kennedy Space Center web site for admission to the onsite viewing area which is just six miles from the launch pad. As expected, these tickets sell out quickly so it’s best to order yours far in advance. If you are unable to obtain tickets, the second best place to watch the shuttle launch is the Astronaut Hall of Fame, which will also require a ticket. If you have the time while visiting Florida’s Space Coast, be sure to check out space-oriented attractions including Air Force Space Museum, Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatory and the Astronaut Hall of Fame.  It might take a few days to get to everything you want to see and do.
